Questions
Frequently Asked
Are Scherber kits HSA/FSA eligible?
Yes. All Scherber trauma kits qualify as eligible medical expenses under HSA and FSA plans. You can purchase directly using your HSA/FSA debit card at checkout. We recommend checking with your plan administrator if you have questions about your specific account, but trauma kits and first aid supplies are a standard eligible category.
Are these kits suitable for civilians, or just trained professionals?
Both. Our kits are used by fire departments, EMS, and law enforcement — but they're also purchased by families, schools, and businesses. The color-coded organization system means anyone can locate supplies quickly. That said, some components like chest decompression needles and NPAs are intended for trained users. We include a contents guide with every kit.
What's your warranty and guarantee policy?
Lifetime guarantee on the bag and all hardware — zippers, straps, buckles, stitching. If it fails under normal professional use, we replace it. Period. Medical supplies inside the kit are covered by their respective manufacturers' quality standards. We inspect every component before shipping.
Is the bag waterproof?
The Scherber 500 is water-resistant, not waterproof. The 1000D Cordura shell repels rain and splashes, and the TPU-coated base is fully waterproof — so you can set it down on wet pavement, mud, or standing water without concern. YKK zippers are water-resistant. For full submersion scenarios, we recommend a dry bag liner.
Do you offer first responder or military discounts?
Yes — 10% off for all verified first responders and military through GovX ID verification at checkout. This includes active and retired fire, EMS, law enforcement, and all branches of military. For department purchases of 10+ units, we offer additional volume pricing. Contact us for a custom quote.
